Should have 5-10 years experience in industrial solid waste management

a. Coordinate  with  maintenance  and  contractor  management  to  review  planned activities and identify associated hazards (i.e. noise, temperature extremes, illumination extremes, ionizing or non-ionizing radiation, ergonomics and hazardous materials)

 

b.Anticipate and identify related health hazards of activities, evaluate, monitor those hazards and present control measure and PPE when required. Recommend and prepare changes if required appropriate work procedures to    avoid exposure to occupational health hazards.

 

c. Conduct on-spot audits and inspections of activities to identify health hazards and whether involved personnel adhere to industrial hygiene practice and minimum requirements for protection against associated injuries and illnesses.

 

d.      Conduct worksite sampling for exposure levels before confined-space entries, and recommend corrective measures when required.

 

 

 

e. Monitors  toxic  materials  for  safe  entry  and  inspection  of  drums,  tanks  and

 

Vessels, and recommend protection procedures such as ventilation for anticipated exposures.

 

f. Ensure instruments and auxiliaries utilized by contractors and others are calibrated and sample collection devices and evaluate all instrument technology and recommend appropriate purchases.

 

g.Offers industrial hygiene awareness sessions upon request to prevent occupational illness and diseases associated with work environment

 

h.Ensure containers of chemicals (inbound and/or outbound) are properly labeled, sealed and kept in designated locations and under suitable conditions.

 

i.  Review material safety data sheets of materials handled and recommend applicable PPE and safety procedures.

 

j.  Ensure on-site availability of applicable PPE such as respirators, ear plugs/muffs, safety glasses and goggles, gloves, visors for welders, disposal suits, etc.

k.Obtain a list of planned radiographic tests with locations, dates and time.

 

l.  Conduct random audit of radiographic tests to ensure contractor's adherence to radiation protection procedures.

 

m.    Participate  in  investigation  of  incidents  involving  hazardous  materials  and

Radioactive sources. Draft  proper reports and liaise with company and government authorities as applicable.
