Job Description:
A structural fabricator's job is to create shapes from raw materials for construction projects using tools and machines:
Responsibilities
Cut, shape, and position metal to form parts of a structure
Read blueprints and technical drawings
Operate equipment to cut the metal
Use large machines to shape and form the metal
Drill or punch holes in the metal
Move the plates into position for assembly
Assemble the parts into a structure, usually by welding it
Apply protective coatings and finishes
