Job Summary
The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for leading and managing the planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring of Mega projects. This role involves developing, maintaining, reviewing, monitoring and managing detailed project schedules, identifying and mitigating risks, and optimizing to ensure timely and effective project delivery. He/She will review, monitor and manage Contractor schedules and guide them for optimizing and timely completion of project. The candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing schedules for successful mega projects.
Education / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in any Engineering discipline.
Certifications
• Certified Project Management Institute as PMP or PMI-SP .
• Certified in Project planning software (MS Project, Primavera P6)
Experience
• 10+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals, hydrocarbon, refinery, off shores, project engineering experiences on large to mega projects
• Proven expertise in using project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Provide needed support for projects in progress at various phases including preparation of planning procedures, governance, evaluations, scheduling and value improving practices
Job Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Analyze project scope and identify critical path activities.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and delays, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Conduct regular progress reviews and generate insightful reports for project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment with project plans and objectives.
• Develop and implement innovative planning techniques to optimize project performance.
• Review, monitor and analyze schedules provided by Contractor.
• Analyze large datasets and utilize data analytics tools to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of planning and scheduling standards and best practices.
• Coordinates with engineering discipline lead engineers and/or contractor to ensure on- time completion of work activities and the implementation of planning procedures.
• To develop and maintain, reviews and monitor project schedules.
• Provide consultation and support services related to project management such as but not limited to planning and scheduling services, variation/claim analysis, and overseeing and reporting the healthiness of the projects that in developments and executions stages.
• Performs analysis on the Schedules during project development and execution.
• Supports in the schedule development of capital programs/projects.
• Schedule Risk Management & Controls
• Strategize and collaborating with project managers and executives to identify and mitigate schedule risks
• Provide strategic direction, guidance and support to project teams and management.
• Monitoring and reporting schedule progress against baseline using earned value (EV) management system standards
