A heavy equipment assistant mechanic inspects, maintains, and repairs heavy equipment. They also perform routine maintenance, keep records, and advise clients on maintenance schedules.
Responsibilities -
Inspect equipment: Check equipment for faults and malfunctions
Perform maintenance: Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment
Repair equipment: Dismantle faulty parts and install new or repaired parts
Test equipment: Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs are complete
Keep records: Document parts usage, repair times, and other maintenance information
Advise clients: Provide recommendations for equipment maintenance and servicing
Maintain inventory: Help with inventory of replacement parts and equipment
Conduct safety checks: Perform safety checks on vehicles and work in accordance with safety procedures
Assist with service calls: Help with service calls for breakdowns
Skills and qualifications -
(All Basic ENGINE, Basic HYDRAULIC, Basic Electrical ) Crane, Loader, Excavator, Backhoe loader, Dozer, Dump trucks, Graders, Skid loaders)
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in heavy equipment or auto repair
Excellent mechanical skills
Ability to multitask and work independently
Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach, and move as needed
