JOB OBJECTIVES: SUMMARY OF OVERALL JOB PURPOSE - Carry out the installation of all electrical equipment and cable laying as per work instructions in order to meet the client/ yard requirements in on board vessels and workshops.
Policies, processes & procedures:
• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Follow and comply to information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.
Day-to-day operations:
• Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
• Pulling and laying of Electrical Cables.
• Mounting of Electrical Control Panels.
• Electrical component and light fittings.
• Electrical cable termination and glanding.
• Reading, understanding of electrical drawings and task execution.
• Megger Test and Troubleshooting of Electrical circuits.
• Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.

• Responsible to comply with relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls and to behave in a manner, which ensures that their actions or omissions, do not adversely affect the environment, health, safety and wellbeing of themselves, colleagues, contractors or members of the public.

• Meeting all responsibilities as outlined in the DDW OHSMS.
• Participating in any training and safety initiatives implemented by the Company.
• Complying with all Safety directives, and work instructions.
• Immediately reporting any incident or potential hazard to their Supervisor or Safety Dept.
• STOP the task if you feel yourself or others may be harmed.
Language skills:
• Basic knowledge in English.
• Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage.
Technical competencies:
Able to understand electrical drawings and terminology to execute the task as a Mariner Electrician

Education - Secondary school / High school & above
Training - Reading and understanding electrical drawings and symbols. .
Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present work related information to their immediate supervisor and subordinates as necessary. Must be attended minimum 6 months fulltime
Experience - Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrician / 2 years shipyard experience as a Marine Electrician
