Job Summary -
Project Engineer responsible for coordinating and overseeing allocated construction projects from conception to completion. The Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager, ensuring that project goals are met on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. This role involves managing resources, coordinating with subcontractors, and solving on-site technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities -
1. Project Planning and Coordination
• Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Develop and update project schedules, identifying and addressing potential delays.
2. Site Management
• Ensure all project activities meet or exceed industry standards, regulations, and company quality guidelines
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Manage subcontractors, ensuring they meet project requirements and timelines.
3. Technical Support and Problem-Solving
• Provide technical guidance to site teams, addressing and resolving construction-related issues.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and documents, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Suggest modifications in design and construction methods when needed to optimize project outcomes.
4. Quality Assurance and Compliance
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and company standards.
• Implement quality control procedures and conduct inspections to verify that all work meets design specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, materials, and equipment usage.
5. Resource Management
• Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and tools required for the project.
• Monitor and control project costs to stay within the allocated budget.
• Track labor and material usage, preparing reports for management.
6. Reporting and Documentation
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including change orders, site instructions, and meeting notes.
• Assist in preparing as-built documentation and handover documents upon project completion.
Qualification and Experience -
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional Certification: Licensed or certified as a Civil Engineer (e.g., Chartered Engineer, PE license).
Experience: Minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience in civil engineering, including hands-on experience with construction projects.
