A PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment) Technician's job is to perform pre-heating and post-weld heat treatment processes on welded components, ensuring they meet precise temperature, time, and cooling rate specifications outlined in welding procedure specifications (WPS). Responsibilities include setting up and operating heat treatment equipment like resistance heating machines and furnaces, installing thermocouples, monitoring temperature, documenting process data, performing hardness tests, and coordinating with welders, engineers, and quality control personnel to ensure safety and adherence to industry standards.
