Key Responsibilities:
Permit Management: Oversee the entire life cycle of work permits, from initiation and planning to closure, ensuring they meet all safety and regulatory requirements.
Risk Assessment: Conduct or assist in conducting Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Field Risk Assessments (FRAs) to identify hazards and determine necessary controls.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all activities authorized by the work permits are carried out in accordance with specified safety plans, standards, and procedures.
Site Monitoring: Perform daily site inspections and audits to verify compliance with the work permit and ensure the work area remains in a safe and environmentally sound condition.
Training and Qualification: Confirm that personnel involved in the work have the necessary qualifications, training, and competence for their roles.
Communication and Coordination: Lead meetings for PTW planning, collaborate with Operations, performing parties, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate safe work execution.
Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of all work permits, inspections, and related documentation to ensure accountability and support continuous improvement.
Isolation Management: Identify and ensure the implementation of necessary isolations and inhibit systems to prevent hazardous energy from being released during work.
System Operation: Manage and operate electronic Work Management Systems (eWMS) or other tracking systems used for work permits.
