• Inspect dumpers, wheel loaders, excavators, cranes, graders and other heavy equipment for proper performance, and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions as assigned by Foreman - Mobile Equipment.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools.
• Repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain heavy-duty equipment used in mining, material handling, landscaping, land clearing and similar activities.
• Prevent breakdowns in heavy equipment by conducting preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Repair & recondition of engines and other defective parts.
• Control and maintain fuels and lubricants oils in the garage for the all operations.
• Repair malfunctioning components, retrofit engines, change brakes, adjust steering systems, replace worn-out parts and change hydraulic fluids.
• Understand the inner workings of various machines such as dozers, cranes, graders, tippers, bulkers and mining equipment.
• Repair and verify any emission control systems.
• Coordinate with Foreman - Mobile Equipment in order to maintain the essential spares for day and shift maintenance activity.
• Install and repair various parts, locating and diagnosing maintenance problems on vehicle/equipment, conducting services, and quickly performing emergency repairs on certain equipment assigned by Foreman - Mobile Equipment in accord with defined standard operating procedures.
• Perform minor repairs on hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Prepare report at the end of shift and make proper turnover to the incoming shift operator. Note down any delays encountered and unfinished job.
• Ensure assigned machinery is left in a clean and hazard-free condition.
• Report any accidents, injuries or defects immediately to the Foreman - Mobile Equipment to facilitate action.
• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Ensure all assigned tasks in the area(s) within the scope of responsibility are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Read and interpret simple machine diagrams, manuals, and drawings as necessary to facilitate the execution of assigned tasks.
• Perform housekeeping during and after completion of jobs.
• Comply with the company QHSSE approved policy.
• Perform any relevant additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the Superior(s).
