1. Rolling Mill Operation
• Operate and control roughing, intermediate, and finishing mill stands.
• Maintaining Stock sizes and Shear samples weight per meter.
• Adjust roll gaps, guides, and pass forms based on required bar size and specifications.
• Monitor rolling parameters such as temperature, speed, and pressure.
• Adjusting the parting of stands and pinch rolls
• Ensure smooth and continuous rolling operations with minimal downtime.
• Pinch roll parting and entry/exit funnel setting.
• CVR Diverters calibration and setting.
• Health checkup of equipment’s and their maintenance
• Supporting Mill operator for rebar parking at cooling bed
• Take the rebar sample & calculate weight per meter to adjust the negative rolling.
2. Pass Schedule and Mill Equipment Management
• Stands change, Rings change, Guides change and align, and secure stands and guides in mill stands.
• Install and alignments of troughs and loopers.
• Follow pass schedules for different sizes and grades.
• Inspect roll wear patterns and conduct timely pass or stand changes.
• Check the guides & rolls conditions to take the decision for roll/pass change
3. Quality Control
• Ensure TMT bars meet required mechanical and dimensional standards.
• Monitor rib patterns, elongation, tensile strength, and surface finish.
• Coordinate with the quality department for corrective action when deviations occur.
• Maintaining –ve rolling as per SOP
4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of mill stands, rolls, bearings, and cooling systems.
• Identify operational issues such as cobbles, misalignment, vibration, or overheating.
• Assist maintenance teams with repairs and replacement of rolling tools and equipments
5. Safety & Compliance
• Maintain safe working practices in accordance with plant safety regulations.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safety protocols during rolling and maintenance.
• Keep work area clean and organized to prevent hazards.
6. Documentation & Reporting
• Log hourly production data and abnormalities.
• Report equipment malfunctions and production issues to Shift Managers.
• Update records of roll wear and pass change history.
