Sr. Electrical Engineer - with GCC experience
• Bachelor's and/ or higher Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University and + 8 years of related or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineering/ Licensed Electrical/ Telecommunications Engineer (PE, CIBSE, SCE Consultant) or similar is a requirement.
• Membership in societies related to electrical engineering such as the (NFPA, IEEE, IEC and TIA) is preferred.
• Membership of the Saudi Council of Engineers (or obtain on commencement).
NOTE – Research and academic activities may be considered in lieu of years of industry experience
• Knowledge of electrical codes and ordinances, including energy efficiency provisions
• Knowledge of LEED and Sustainability Requirements
• Ability to read plans for building construction and detect deficiencies
• Ability to review and interpret energy efficiency software programs
• Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
• Understand complex principles and techniques of building plan review
• Knowledge of building construction materials and methods of construction
• Knowledge of the use of alternative materials and methods of construction
• Ability to learn the latest techniques in building plan review technology
• Ability to deal effectively and courteously with property owners, contractors and the general public
• Skill in providing good customer service that will enhance positive interactions with stakeholders
• Understand how to effectively apply knowledge of the codes and construction procedures to plan review practices
Essential duties and responsibilities of the senior engineer include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Review electrical plans, calculations, models, specifications and related documents for compliance with NEOM’s codes, laws, ordinances, regulations, policies and requirements
• Monitor site activities to verify continuous compliance with approved plans, specifications and applicable codes
• Review BIM information to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Witness site inspections and commissioning activities as needed
• Coordinate with electrical consultants to ensure Lowest Total Cost of Ownership
• Ensure compliance with best practices pertaining to energy efficiency, sustainability and operability
• Stay up to date with latest technologies, trends and best practices.
• Grant approvals, approve revisions and coordinate with other disciplines
• Advise and consult with architects, engineers, contractors, builders on electrical requirements and NEOM policies
• Attend site visits and resolve field related issues
• Review and approve field driven revisions
• Attend meetings, hearings, emergency activities and other related events
